Emily and Mitch's Wedding
Friday, April 22, 2011 at 10:00AM I had the pleasure of shooting for Corinna See, a friend and colleague I met through The B School, at the wedding of Emily and Mitch this past week. Corinna lives in New Mexico but was asked to shoot this wedding in New York from the referral of previous clients. Luckily, I'm local and was able to assist!
Emily and Mitch looked amazing on their special day and the venue, Tappan Hill Mansion, enhanced their wedding's beauty. Can you believe this photo of the deer on property? It was right behind the area where the ceremony was held. It was incredible! So picturesque. And I was in heaven when I saw the cherry blossoms in bloom that adorned their Chuppah. Wow, they lucked out!
The program and bouquets were simple yet memorable.
The top of the Chuppah held a talis their family had from years prior. It certainly added to the day's importance and symbolism in the ceremony. I love this photo I took of Emily and Mitch under its watchful protection.
All eyes on the bride and groom!
I'm fortunate that, as a photographer, I get to move around during the ceremony to see different angles of what's taking place. Seeing Emily's mom and dad hold hands behind her mom's shawl really warmed my heart. It was just so sincere, so candid and so indicative of what they were feeling in the moment.
A prayer was bestowed on the bride and groom by their rabbi...
...and they were married! Kiss the bride, Mitch!
Cocktail hour followed the ceremony, of course. This paella looks delicious!
The guitar player was great! He played during the ceremony and cocktail hour.
The celebration continued as we headed into their reception. I was loving their elegant, understated yet vibrant and bold centerpieces. They had 2 different types of purple orchids and calla lilies in tall vases on the tables.
I adore detailed shots. If there's anything about me as a person and photographer I would point out to you if I was giving you an elevator pitch, it'd be that I'm detail-oriented.
Save the best dances for last.
And the evening was complete.
Congratulations Emily and Mitch! I'm certain that your life together will be as beautiful as this beginning.
